Begin by installing the CRYENGINE Launcher as follows:

  1. On the CRYENGINE website website, click the  button to download the Launcher installer.
  2. Simply follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.

The  icon should then appear in your desktop.

Creating a CRYENGINE Account

Open the Launcher by double clicking the  icon; you should see the following login screen:

Note

Using the Launcher in offline mode by clicking the Image Removed the Image Added button in the bottom-right corner of the login screen is only recommended if you already have another CRYENGINE version installed on your system.

If you already have an account, enter your details in the fields provided and click Log In.

If you don't have an account:

  1. Click the Create an Account hyperlink at the bottom of the Login window to be redirected to the account registration page.

  2. Once you're on the registration page, type in your user details and click Sign Up. You will then receive a confirmation email with a verification link, which you will need to click to activate your account.

Once you've logged in to the Launcher with your CRYENGINE account, you should see the following dashboard:

If a new version of the Launcher is available, you should see the following pop-up when logging in:

Note
Although you may skip the update by clicking the Skip button, you will be prompted to update the Launcher every time you sign in. It is recommended to always use the most up to date version of the Launcher.


  1. Open the Engines library by clicking the Engines tab in the left panel of the Launcher, and then click the Add button in the top-right corner of the library as shown below.

  2. This opens the the Select Engine Version overlay window. From the Engine Version dropdown, select the version of CRYENGINE you'd like to download and click the Add Engine button.

  3. The selected Engine version will then be added to your Engines library.

  4.  After the download is complete, you should see the Manage Engine Dependencies prompt, which gives you the option to install the various components that are required to work with game code, third party middleware, plugins etc.

    1. If you do not intend to work with these components, simply click the Skip button to complete the Engine installation process. 

      Note
      If you chose to skip this prompt, you can revisit the dependency options using the Manage Dependencies option in the Engines library.


    2. If you click Add Dependencies however, you will see the following dashboard with the IDE and Compiler, SDKs and Dependencies and Tools and Plugins tabs:

Explore each of the tabs to see all available components and install the ones you'll need.

Once done, proceed to Creating, Importing & Upgrading Projects to learn how to create a project in your installed Engine version.
